Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to use the cathode in headline with high current density by making the cathode to contain a substance, in which powder of scandium oxide Sc2O2 is dispersed in an alkaline earth metal oxide layer. CONSTITUTION:This cathode is provided with an electron radiating material layer formed by coating the surface of a base metal with a substance, where powder of scandium oxide is mixed with powder of an alkaline earth metal while being uniformly dispersed. Thereby, an electron tube cathode, which can be used with higher current density than the former cathode by a generation action of free Ba due to a composite oxide generated by scandium oxide dispersed inside the electron radiating material layer and an action heightening conductivity of the electron radiating material layer, can be obtained.
