Abstract
PURPOSE:To make inherence of cracks in recess parts and corner parts to nil, and to check effectively generation of a crack at a semiconductor package consisting of an insulating substrate and a cover body by a method wherein roundnesses are formed to the recess parts and the corner parts of the insulating substrate and the cover body. CONSTITUTION:Circular arc type roundnesses having the radius of curvature from 0.1mm to 0.25mm are formed to the recess parts H1, H2 and the corner parts B, B of a semiconductor package consisting of a substrate 1 and a cover body 2 and to accommodate a semiconductor element. Tumbling is performed to the substrate 1 and the cover body 2 for removal of dust, etc. adhered to the surfaces thereof, and even when abrasives come into collision with the recess parts H1, H2 and the corner parts B, B, impact force based on collision is scattered without concentrating to the corner parts B, B, and generation of a crack to the corner parts B, B is made to nil. Accordingly, after the semiconductor element 4 is airtightly sealed inside, even when impact force is applied from the outside to the insulating substrate 1 or the cover body 2, generation of a crack is made nothing completely.
