Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a tracking error by setting the relative installation angle of a pair of head drivers to the prescribed angle so that the vibration, which is caused by the advancing and retreating motions of one head driver and given to the other head driver, can lie within the prescribed permissible range. CONSTITUTION:A disk memory medium 1 is rotated and driven in a certain direction by a spindle motor 7, and optical heads 12 and 13 loaded on moving pieces 10 and 11, respectively, advance and move in directions of arrows X and Y together with the moving pieces 10 and 11 by the drive of linear motors 8 and 9. In this case a pair of head drivers 14 and 15 are installed so that the relative angle made by the access directions X and Y can be the prescribed angle. As a result, the occurrence of the tracking error can be prevented which is caused in such a way that the vibrations due to the operations of the head drivers 14 and 15 are transmitted to the other head drivers, respectively.
