Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the utilization factor of light, by optically guiding the light made incident on a non-generating region to a generating region. CONSTITUTION:On the side of the light receiving surface of a glass substrate 1, an irregular part comprising a circular cylinder surface and a flat surface is provided. Incident light L is refracted and the refracted light is converged to a part I. The light is not projected on a part II. The parts I and II are formed in this way. A current collecting electrode 2 is formed at the part, to which the light is not projected. Then, a semiconductor layer 3, which performs photoelectric conversion, is evaporated. Finally, a back surface electrode 4 is formed, and a photoelectric conversion element is formed. The light, which is inputted in the non-generating region that occupies 7% of the total light receiving area, is guided to the generating region and can be utilized effectively for the photoelectric conversion. Thus the utilization factor of the incident light is improved, and the effective efficiency of the light generating element is improved.
