Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a colored stainless steel sheet with high quality having an antidazzle property at a low cost by subjecting the surface of a stainless steel sheet to dull finishing so as to give a specified average roughness and by coloring the surface by an oxide film forming method.
CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel sheet is subjected to cold finish rolling with a surface roughened work roll or the surface of the steel sheet is subjected to dull finishing by shot blasting, pickling or other method so as to give 0.5W2μm average roughness. The surface of the steel sheet is then colored by an oxide film forming method such as incorodiable system or blackening. A colored stainless steel sheet having the antidazzle property and low glassiness is produced at a low cost.
