Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate conventional buffer tank thus to reduce the size of engine by arranging an oil separation mechanism having ventilating function and oil separating function in the communication path between the buffer space at the lower section of power piston and the crank case. CONSTITUTION:In a system where the crank case 1 of displacer type Stirling engine and the space (buffer space) 18 at the lower section of piston are communicated through a communication tube 19', an oil separator 21 is provided for the purpose to prevent supply of oil 14 in the crank case 1 to said tube 19'. The oil separator 21 is constructed by providing first sponge 25 for absorbing the oil mist 14' and second sponge 27 having lower density than said sponge 25 while overlapping at the inner face side of crank chamber flange 22 fixed to the crank case 1 and connected with the communication tube 19'. The outercircumferential of first sponge 25 is covered with a cover 24 having notched lower section while metal mesh 26 is provided between them 25, 27.
