Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength by coating a green laminated material with zirconia powder or heat-processed electrostrictive material powder and baking the laminated material in the process for obtaining laminated sintered material including an internal electrode. CONSTITUTION:A green laminated material 21 is divided into six laminated blocks by cutting it along the dotted lines, these green laminated material blocks are baked and thereby electrostrictive laminated materials 23 can be obtained. Each block is cut at two areas, a temporary external electrode is attached to the exposed surface and then surface is baked in order to form a temporary external electrode 24, it is then cut along the dotted line 22 to entire expose the internal electrode 25. A negative (-) electrode is connected to the one side of temporary external electrode 24, while a positive (+) electrode to the opposed electrode to form an external electrode 29. It is then cut along the dotted line 22 to form an electrostrictive effect element 30. Thereby, mechanical strength of element such as folding strength and tensile strength can be remarkably improved as compared with the prior art, an electrostrictive effect element is protected from breakdown even when it is driven at high speed by high electric field and the yield in mass production and reliability when it is built into a printer head etc. can also be improved as much.
