Abstract

PURPOSE:To rapidly increase temperature in a turbine inlet and suppress generation of a turbo lag, by closing a flow regulating valve provided in an atmospheric opening passage while opening a one way type valve provided in an exhaust communication path and supplying air to an exhaust passage in the upstream of a catalyst, when an engine is accelerated. CONSTITUTION:One passage 31b, branching from a delivery passage 31a of an air pump 25 in a three way type pipe 31, communicates with an inlet side or the like of the air pump 25, and the passage 31b provides on its half way a flow regulating valve 37. While the other passage 31c, branching from the delivery passage 31a, communicates with a supply port 39 opened to an exhaust passage 3 in the upstream of a catalyst 19, and the passage 31c provides on its half way a one way type valve 41 allowing air to flow only in a side of the exhaust passage 3. And when a negative intake pressure is generated with the small opening of a throttle valve 13, a diaphragm valve 47 in an actuator 45 is pulled opening the flow regulating valve 37. On the contrary, if the intake pressure increases to the atmospheric pressure by opening the throttle valve 13 for acceleration, the flow regulating valve 37 is closed while the one way type valve 41 is opened by the delivery pressure of the air pump 25.
