Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively treat exhaust gas in low cost and to prevent environmental contamination, by applying stripping treatment to waste water and decomposing the volatile organochlorine compound transferred to the formed exhaust gas by irradiating the same with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:Raw water 1 containing a volatile organochlorine compound (abbreviated as VOC) such as trichloroethylene or tetrachloroethylene is guided to a stripping apparatus 2 to be sprinkled to a packed material 3 from above and VOC in raw water 1 is removed by stripping gas such as air blown in from below by a blower 4 while raw water 1 is flowed out as treated water 6. The exhaust gas 7 exhausted from the stripping apparatus 2 contains VOC expelled from the raw water 1 and, when said gas is introduced into an ultraviolet irradation apparatus 8 to be irradiated with ultraviolet rays, VOC is decomposed and the exhaust gas is made innoxious to be exhausted as treated gas 9 and environmental contamination is prevented.

エチレン等の揮発性有機塩素化合物を含有する原水1は
、ストリッピング装置2に導かれて上方から充填物3に
散布され、下方から送風機4によって吹き込まれるスト
リッピングガス(空気など)5により水中の揮発性有機
塩素化合物が除去され、処理水6となって流出する。一
方、ストリフピング装置f2から排気される排ガス7中
には、水中から追い出された揮発性有機塩素化合物が含
まれており、この排ガス7を紫外線照射装置8に導入し
て紫外線を照射すると、強力な紫外線エネルギーにより
揮発性有機塩素化合物は分解し、無害化された処理ガス
9となって排出され、環境汚染は防止される。
