Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the delivery pressure without causing surge of second compressor by providing a control valve for closing the relief path with correspondence to the difference between the inlet pressure of second turbine and the delivery pressure of second compressor. CONSTITUTION:Upon opening of a throttle valve 9, rotation of first turbo- charger 2 is accelerated to rise the delivery pressure of compressor 2B quickly. Upon reaching of the delivery pressure to predetermined level, an exhaust lead-in valve 16 will start opening of branch exhaust path 15 with correspondence to a diaphragm device 17 thus to lead to the turbine 7A of second turbo-chager 7. Since the inlet pressure of exhaust gas from second turbine 7A is low for small opening of said path 15, a control valve 20 will fully open the relief path 19 through the spring 26 in the diaphragm device 22 at the compressor 7B side.
