Abstract

PURPOSE: To freely perform selection of frames and adjustment of interpupillary distances, by providing a shaving margin at the outer peripheral section of a liquid crystal lens and an interpupillary distance adjusting mechanism at a frame side.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal lens of this invention is constituted in such a way that, even when the liquid crystal lens is shaved in accordance with a frame, a conductive section can be exposed always at the outer periphery of the lens by providing, for example, three fixed conductive sections 18, 19, and 20 of a shavable material at appropriate locations of the outer peripheral of a shaving margin 13. Both conductive sections 22 and 24 at the outside are conducted with each other and connected with earth and a conductive section 23 at the inside is connected with the variable resistance 25 of a control section 9. One end of the resistance 25 is earthed and the other end is connected with the AC output terminal of a DC/AC converter 26. The converter 26 is connected with a battery 10. The AC output terminal of the converter 26 is also connected with the other liquid crystal lens 21. Moreover, in order to adjust the interpupillary distance, the distance between centers of both side blows 14 and 14 is made variable against a bridge 2.
