Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of supplying bias current and to reduce a magnetic bearing in size by inputting an output of a displacement meter of a magnetic bearing to the first electric power amplifier and through a signal converter to the second electric power amplifier, and controlling the sucking force of an electromagnetic according to outputs of both amplifiers.
CONSTITUTION: A displacement meter 2 for detecting the displacement of a shaft 1 is disposed in a magnetic bearing, and an output of the displacement meter 2 is input to the first electric power amplifier 6a and through a signal converter 7 to the second electric power amplifier 6b. Outputs of both electric power amplifiers are supplied to electromagnets 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d to control the displacement of the shaft. The signal converter 7 is disposed before the second electric power amplifier, both negative and positive outputs of the displacement meter are input to either of the electric power amplifiers. Therefore, it is not necessary to supply bias current, and the need of a cooling device is eliminated to reduce the magnetic bearing in size.
