CONSTITUTION:A part of a river bottom 1 is excavated, an intake 4 is located in depth about in the middle between a bottom 3a of an excavated part 3 and a water surface 2, and an intake pipe 5 is connected to the intake 4. Water in a river is pumped up through the intake pipe 5 with the aid of an intake pump 6. This causes decrease of a flow rate at the excavated part 3 and sand particles to be accumulated on the bottom 3a, resulting in the possibility to prevent the occurrence of a trouble at a plant due to suction of sand and refuse.
