Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit many-time separating and erasing operations to be performed by using a plasticizer having plasticizing effect on polyamide resins for a lift-off layer to be provided for the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:A lift-off layer contains a rubbery resin and a plasticizer for a tackifier as the main component. The rubbery resin is a binder for fixing the tackifier to a base material, and the plasticizer has a plasticizing effect on the tackifier as the main component of the lift-off layer and also on the polyamide resin of blue ink for correctors. The preferred amount of the plasticizer is 0.5-20pts.wt. on the base of 10pts.wt. tackifier, more preferably 2-10pts. wt. If the amount of the plasticizer is too small, the blue ink of corrector is insufficiently plasticized and the erasing property of the ink is worsened. If the amount of the plasticizer is too much, the plasticization is overly made to cause the occurrence of transfer to recording papers when reused.

- Conventionally, with this type of lift-off tape, the area that has been used once is covered with collector ink, so when the area is used again, this ink has a peeling force on the lift-off layer. At first, it was said that it could be used only - times because it could not be erased completely.

To explain this in more detail, collector ink is made into a brittle film mainly composed of polyamide resin in order to maintain the removability of the printed image from the recording paper using lift-off tape. It is common that
When an image formed by such a collector ink is attached to the lift-off layer of the above structure during erasing, the ink becomes sticky due to the action of the plasticizer that has migrated therein. This will have the effect of peeling off the printed image.

The plasticizer may have a plasticizing effect on the tackifier, which is the main component of the lift-off layer, and may have a plasticizing effect on the polyamide resin of the collector ink. . Representative examples of plasticizers having such properties include oleic acid, isostearic acid, polyoxyethylene oleylamine, coconut oil fatty acid jetanolamide, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether, trimethylolpropane monoerucate, sorbitan monolaurate, Examples include tsurudo tansesquioleate, polyoxyethylene sorbitol 1, and tetraoleate. These plasticizers may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

When the plasticizer is used, it is preferably in the range of 0.5 to 20 parts, especially in the range of 2 to 10 parts, when the tackifier is 10 parts (by weight, the same applies hereinafter). If the amount of plasticizer used is too small, the collector ink that adheres to the lift-off layer and is peeled off from the recording paper will not be sufficiently plasticized.
Erasability by re-erasing deteriorates significantly. If the amount is too high, the collector ink that adheres to the lift-off layer and is peeled off from the recording paper may not be plasticized too much, and the plasticized collector ink may be transferred to the recording paper again when reused. .

Examples 1 to 5 Each lift-off layer composition shown in Table 1 was uniformly kneaded using a ball mill, and then coated on a 38 micron thick polyester film, and the solvent was evaporated to form a 2.0 µm thick polyester film.
A 0 micron lift-off layer was formed, and the obtained film-like material was cut into a width of 7 m and a length of 6.5 m, and then wound around a predetermined spool.

When the erasing operation was repeated over the entire length of the lift-off tape, erasing performance was similar to that of the first erasing until about the fourth time. Further, after the fourth printing, minute ink powder remained on the recording paper, but this had almost no effect on the clarity of reprinting.

Comparative Example 1 Lift-off tapes were prepared in the same manner as in the above Examples, except that polybutadiene, which hardly or not plasticizes the polyamide resin, was used as the plasticizer in each composition in Table 1. When the erasability was examined in the same manner as in the test described above, it was found that the sharpness of reprinting in the second use was considerably inferior to that in the fourth use in each of the examples.
