Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain high performance even after charge and discharge are repeated by using heat resistant cotton-like material as a separator. CONSTITUTION:Heat resistant cotton-like material is used as a separator 8. For example, a separator 8 comprising glass fiber is placed between electrodes, and an electrolyte holding material 9 comprising glass wool is used in the periphery of the electrode. An insulator 7 is placed in the periphery 8. Material which is heat resistant and does not melt at drying temperature and is cotton-like, can completely be dehydrated and has good electrolyte holding ability. A cotton- like material comprising quartz fiber also can be used. The electrolyte holding material 9 is effective to more increase electrolyte holding ability, and also desirable to decrease as much as possible moisture content same as the separator 8.
