入口管をその途中に′おいて小孔群を介して第１拡張室
と連通しつつ第２拡張室に開口する一方、後面部から挿
入する排気出口管をその途中において小孔群を介して第
２拡張室と連通しつつ第１拡張室に開口するようにした
自動車用内燃機関のマフラにおいて、上記排気出口管の
第２拡張室から上流側に位置する部分を先細りのテーパ
筒状に形成し、その上流側開口端部の内径を排気入口管
に比べて小さくしたことを特徴とする自動車用内燃機関
