Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the titled compound useful as a radiation injury protecting agent, etc., economically in an industrial scale, by reducing cystamine with hydrogen in the presence of metallic palladium.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is produced by reducing cystamine with hydrogen in a solvent such as methanol in the presence of a metallic palladium catalyst. The reaction is preferably carried out at 30W150°C under atmospheric pressure W20kg/cm2, usually for 1W10hr. The amount of the metallic palladium is preferably 2W10wt% based on the carrier, and 0.001W0.05g-atom per 1mol of cystamine.
EFFECT: Little by-products, simple purification, and high yield.
