The input of the photodiode and the output of the phototransistor are weak and susceptible to electrical noise, so by incorporating the conversion circuit 7t into the encoder 8, the internal signal line 6 is made to have the shortest distance. There is. The external signal line 9 has a long distance and passes through an electrical noise source, so a shielded line is used. Normally, the half-life period of the optical output of a photodiode, for example, is approximately 70℃ for 5 consecutive years at approximately 55℃.

The operation of the conventional encoder shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 will be explained below. FIG. 4 is a waveform diagram showing signal changes in each part of the encoder shown in FIG. 1. 1st
When the rotation shown in the figure is rotated in the normal direction, the waveform 15 in FIG.
A becomes a pseudo sine wave that becomes minimum when the slit 12 and the slit 13A are deviated by 0.50. slit 1
Since the relationship between 3A and slit 13B is (N+0.25)θ, the output of light receiving element 5B is delayed by 0.25θ as shown by waveform 15B. As shown in FIG. 4, waveform 17A is waveform 15At-1 waveform 1
7B is the waveform 15B that is compared with the reference voltage E and converted into a υ rectangular wave using a well-known method, and a two-phase running wave is obtained as the output of the conversion circuit 7. It shows. When the rotating shaft 1 is reversed, the phase I of the waveform 17A and the waveform 17B become opposite to each other. The two-phase rectangular wave is transmitted to the signal processing circuit 11 via the external signal edge 9. The signal processing circuit 11 counts the number of pulses as plus (+) when the phase is positive and as minus (-) when the phase is negative. [IlJ's necessary rotation l
Obtain position 10I of 14Ill. If this position information is differentiated with respect to time, it becomes the speed, so the speed information of the rotation l1111 can also be obtained. Waveform 16A is the output of light receiving element 5A when the light output of light emitting element 4A is halved. In this case, waveform 18A after conversion is flat, indicating that the function of p1 encoder 8 is lost. .

Since the encoder has 4B, there is a drawback that incorporating the encoder 8t in a device that generates a large amount of heat, such as a servo motor (not shown), will significantly shorten the life of the encoder. Furthermore, even if the external signal line 9 is shielded by a shield St-, it is not perfect against electrical noise, and reliability deteriorates under conditions with a large amount of electrical noise. Furthermore, encoder 8
Conversion circuit 7-? There were many disadvantages such as the large space between the valley emitting elements 4A and 4B, and the tendency for abnormalities to occur in the conversion element 4W17 and each light emitting element 4 due to the transmission of vibrations from the rotating body.

FIG. 5 is a partial cross-sectional configuration diagram showing an encoder and its control wave @ which is an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing the optical path in the encoder of FIG. 5, and FIG. 5
This is a cross-sectional configuration diagram showing the detection end of the original fiber cable used in the encoder shown in the figure, and the same parts as in FIGS. 1 to 3 are indicated using the same reference numerals, and detailed explanation of 7 will be omitted. 5 and 6, 20 is the original fiber cable that connects the encoder 8 and the control device 10, 21A and 21B are the detection ends of the original fiber cable 2o, and the detection end 21A is the Surin l-13A. In addition, the detection ends 21B are respectively opposed to the sulin) 13B. As shown in FIG. 7, each detection end 21A and 21B alternately aligns the original output side (marked ■ in the figure) and the original return side (marked ■ in the figure) of the original fiber wire and reflects the light. It is configured to be able to detect light. Here, as disclosed in JP-A No. 57-22511, JP-A-57-135313, etc., the thickness of the conventional 97 Aipa pure fiber is Due to restrictions, it was limited to the light transmission method, but in this invention, the thickness of the original fiber can be made extremely small, and the light reflection method can be used.
It has been realized. 24 is a light emitting end forming the source end of the original fiber cable 2°, and the light emitted from the light emitting element 4 and incident on the light emitting end 24 is distributed to each detection end 21A and 21B.

Next, the operation of the encoder shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, which is an embodiment of the present invention, will be described. 8th
This figure is a waveform diagram showing signal changes in each part of the encoder of FIG. 5. When the rotating shaft 1 is rotated in the normal direction, as shown in FIG. 8, a waveform 15A is the output of the light-receiving element 5A. 13A is 0.50
It becomes a pseudo sine wave that reaches its maximum when it deviates. Further, as shown in FIG. 8, waveform 15B is the output of light receiving element 5B, and this output extends by 0.250 minutes from waveform 15A. When the rotating shaft 1 is reversed, the phase order of the waveform 15A and the waveform 15B is reversed. Each waveform 15A and 15B
is a two-phase pseudo sine wave, so each waveform 15A and 1
Since position information and speed information are already included in 5B, there is no problem in inputting them directly to the signal processing circuit w111. Here, in the light reflection method according to the present invention, the optical output is somewhat weaker than in the conventional light transmission method, but the original fiber cable 20 is affected by the well-known electrical noise tf'
Since it hardly receives L, the conversion circuit 7 which existed in the above-mentioned conventional example becomes unnecessary. As described above, the fact that the encoder 8 according to the present invention does not have the conversion circuit 7 and uses the light reflection method is useful for minimizing the space occupied by the encoder 8. In addition, the control device ti
Due to the presence of various electronic components, the internal temperature of o is designed not to exceed a maximum of 55°C, but if the location where the light emitting element 4 is placed is a low temperature part inside the entire control device 10, it is difficult to use it. There is no need to worry about deterioration of the light output of the light emitting element 4 inside. In addition, since the original fiber cable 20 can be easily obtained with high heat resistance, the encoder 80
There is no need to limit the internal temperature too much.

As explained above, in the encoder, the detection end of the original fiber cable is placed opposite the slit portion of either the rotary slit plate or the equal ratio slit plate to detect the reflected light. Compared to conventional encoders of this type, this encoder has superior high-temperature resistance, is virtually unaffected by casing, electrical noise, vibration, etc., and occupies less space. This provides an excellent effect in that a relatively small encoder can be obtained.
