Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent foaming phenomena and run-off of the lubricating oil into the cycle by a method wherein a path, running from the opening end of a small vertical groove on the outer peripheral side surface of flange of a lower bearing to the upper part of the level of the lubricating oil reserved in a case, is provided in the structure.
CONSTITUTION: Refrigerant gas is sucked from a suction pipe 9 and is compressed, thereafter, is discharged from a valve 10 into a muffler 13 formed by a valve cover 11 and the lower bearing 12. Most of the refrigerant gas passes through the path 14, ascends in the case 1 and is discharged from a discharging pipe 15, however, a part of the refrigerant gas passes through the vertical groove 16 from the muffler 13, passes further through the path 19 and is injected onto the level of the lubricating oil. According to this method, severe mixing of the lubricating oil and the refrigerant gas may be prevented and the foaming phenomena will never be generated.
