Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an IC which can have the stable operation even when it is driven with a solar battery, etc. by using a voltage deciding circuit to decide the power supply voltage and stopping the supply of clock pulses to the IC when the power supply voltage becomes less than a prescribed level.
CONSTITUTION: A voltage deciding circuit 2 detects the voltage value of a power supply terminal 1, and an output 3 is changed to a low level from a high level when the power supply voltage is lower than a prescribed level. An AND gate 4 controls the supply of clock pulses and decides the supply of the output of a clock oscillator 5 to a circuit 6. The output 3 is set at a low level by the function of the circuit 2 in case the power supply voltage of the terminal 1 is lower than a prescribed set voltage. Thus the output of the oscillator 5 is cut off by the gate 4 and not supplied to the circuit 6. A runaway state which causes an abnormal current does not occur if the supply of clock pulses is stopped. Then a low current consumption state is maintained. Thus it is possible to obtain an IC which can have the stable operation even when it is driven with a solar battery, etc.
