可能に係合し同ポールの揺動を規制してその歯部と前記
円弧状歯部との噛合を保持するストッパを備え前記一方
のブラケットに上下方向へ回動可能に組付けた第1の手
動レバーと、前記ストッパーを前記ポールの背部に係合
すべく前記第1の手動レバーを付勢する第2のばね手段
と、前記第1の手動レバーとポール間に設けられ前記第
1の手動レバーを前記第2のばね手段に抗して所定角揺
動操作したとき前記ポールを揺動してその歯部と前記円
弧状歯部との噛合を解除させる第1のカム手段を具備し
て、前記第1の手動レバーを揺動操作したとき前記向動
ブラケットが前記第1のはね手段の作用にて上方へ跳上
げられるようにした車両用ティルトステアリング装置に
おいて、前記円弧状歯部の一部に解離可能に係合する係
止爪と同円弧状歯部の一部を覆う円弧状の遮蔽部を備え
た作動プレートを前記両ブラケットの枢軸に上下方向へ
回動可能にかつ枢軸に対して直角方向へ摺動可能に組付
けて同作動プレートをば −ね付勢してその係止爪を
前記円弧状歯部の一部に係合させるとともに、−前記第
1の手動レバーの揺動操作方向へ所定角揺動操作したと
き同第1の手動レバーに係合してこれを一体的に揺動さ
せる係合部を備えた第2の手動レバーを前記一方のブラ
ケットに上下方向へ回動可能に組付けて同第2の手動レ
バーをばね付勢して前記第1の手動レバーに対して所定
角離間させ、かつ前記第2の手動レバーと前記作動プレ
ート間に第2の手動レバーを所定角揺動操作したとき前
記作動プレートを摺動してその係止爪と前記円弧状歯部
との一合を解除させる第2のカム手段を設けるとともに
、前記一方のブラケットの一側には前記作動プレートの
遮蔽部の外周に設けた係合突起が同作動プレートの摺動
時に嵌入して同作動プレートの上下方向への回動を規制
する係合凹所とこの係合凹所の上部に設けられ前記係合
突起に当接して常に同係合突起の上方への相対的回動を
規制する保合段部を備えたガイドプレートを設けて前記
作動プレートに対する前記他方のブラケットの相対回動
を可能とし、前記第2の手動レバーの揺動操作により前
記作動プレートを摺動させるとともに前記第1の手動レ
バーを揺動させて、前記固定ブラケットに対する前記回
動ブラケットの傾角を調整し得るようにし、かつ前記作
動プレートの係止爪における前記ガイドプレートの係合
段部とは反対側の傾斜部の傾斜角を前記係合段部側の傾
斜部の傾斜角に比し大きくしたことを特徴とする車両用
