For this reason, it is desirable that the surface of the transducer array be formed into a curved surface that is the same as or closely similar to the surface of the subject. Conventionally, conformal array vibrators that can meet almost these requirements have been realized. An example of the manufacturing method will be described below with reference to FIG. (2) As shown in FIG. 1A, a planar vibrator (for example, PZr) 2 is temporarily adhered onto a movable sheet 1 using wax or the like.

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the configuration. The present invention will be explained in the order of steps as follows. That is, as shown in Figure 2,
A part of the flexible printed board 30 is overlapped on one end of the flat plate-shaped vibrator 21, and a conductive adhesive 22 is applied to bond them together. A flexible printed circuit board 30', as shown in FIG.
2n, and in order to enable bending as described later, the cut 33 is further made with an appropriate pitch and length.
, ~333,... are applied. The left end portion without the cuts 33, -333, . As a result, the vibrator 21 is connected via the conductive adhesive 22.
The end face of the conductor pattern and the conductor pattern are securely connected. As shown in FIG. 2, a matching layer 23 and an acoustic lens 24 are sequentially stacked and bonded to the vibrator 21 formed in this way. The matching layer 23 is for matching the acoustic impedance of the vibrator 21 and the subject. The acoustic lens 24 is for narrowing down the sound wave beam, and is a rubber-like lens with excellent flexibility. As this lens material, silicone rubber or the like can be suitably used. A cutting groove 41 as shown in FIG. 4 is cut into the vibrator thus formed.
This cutting groove is deep enough to cut the vibrator 21 and matching layer 23 but not the acoustic lens 24, and extends beyond the conductive adhesive 22 to reach a part of the printed board 30. It is cut to length. If there are cut grooves in the acoustic lens, it will impair the concentration of the beam, so
It is desirable to avoid cutting the lens as much as possible. Note that by cutting a part of the printed board 30, the printed board can be easily bent and
The effect of increasing sex occurs. The cut grooves 41 are sequentially inserted between the conductor patterns. In this way, the conductor pattern 3
A strip-shaped vibrator array having 2, 322, . . . 32n, respectively, is formed. Next, a packing material 51 having a two-dimensional curved surface A as shown in FIG. 5 is prepared, and the vibrator array is adhered to the curved surface A as shown in FIG. 6. Since the printed board 30' has the above-mentioned notches, it can be bent in a complicated manner, and can be bent toward the packing material 51 as shown in FIG. Next, the electrode lead 32. A common electrode for grounding is connected to the end face of the vibrator on the side (not visible in FIG. 6) opposite to the connected side of 32n. FIG. 7 is a diagram showing how this common electrode is attached. That is, the vibrator 21
A conductive adhesive 71 is applied to the end face of the array vibrator, and each array vibrator is connected in common. Furthermore, here is the ground electrode lead 72.
Connect. In this way, a conformal array vibrator having a desired curved surface can be manufactured.

Note that in the case where the first matching layer 23 is formed of an elastic material such as a polymer film, there is no need to make cutting grooves up to the matching layer 23, and it is possible to easily cut the vibrator plate into any desired shape by simply cutting the vibrator plate into strips. Can be bent onto curved surfaces. Note that when cutting the vibrator into strips, it is not necessarily necessary to bond both the matching layer 23 and the acoustic lens 24 before cutting. For example, when a matching layer with high specularity is bonded using an elastic body as described above, cutting may be performed immediately after this bonding step. Furthermore, if a matching layer is not used, cutting may be performed after adhering the acoustic lens to the Naoto vibrator surface. Furthermore, when attaching a rear matching layer to the vibrator, cutting may be performed before adhering the matching layer made of the elastic material. The rear matching layer must be condensable in this case, and its acoustic impedance is between the respective acoustic impedances of the transducer and the packing material. As an example, the same material as the packing material (for example, filler-containing rubber) may be sliced to an appropriate thickness. In addition, the notches 33, 3 of the printed board 30
32, 333, . . . instead of being applied in advance, the entire width of the printed board may be cut simultaneously during the vibrator cutting process.

If the matching layer is not an elastic material or flexible, a flexible acoustic lens or the like is further bonded thereto, and this serves as a temporary holding member. Next, the vibrator plate or matching layer is cut into strips so that each strip has an electrode lead to form a vibrator array. Subsequently, this strip-shaped vibrator array is attached to a packing material having a desired two-dimensional curved surface, thereby forming a conformal array vibrator having a curvature that matches the curved surface. In this case, since there is no heating step at all, the characteristics of the vibrator do not deteriorate due to heating unlike the conventional method. In addition, each electrode lead can be connected in common before cutting the vibrator, and the ground electrode lead is used as a common electrode and is bonded to the side end surface after forming the curved vibrator. It's much easier than.

Furthermore, since there is no need to remove the adhesive once it has been adhered, and there is no process of peeling off the temporary adhesive as in the past, there is almost no risk of damaging the vibrator. From the above points, the present invention can be put to practical use and its effects are extremely great.
