Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the contact unit of a main circuit switch from damaging by opening the switch after a chopper is turned OFF. CONSTITUTION:When a power drive instruction switch S is closed, a relay PR is first energized to apply a power drive command to a gate control unit GC. Then, a relay L1R, L2R are energized to close main circuit switches L1, L2, a gate start signal GS is applied, and a chopper CH starts operating. Then, when the switch S is opened, the relay PR is first deenergized, and the power drive command becomes OFF. When the main motor current IM drops to the prescribed value or lower, a current detection relay CR is deenergized, and a rapid relay L1F, and main circuit relays L1R, L2R are deenergized. At this time, the relay L1F is previously deenergized. Accordingly after the chopper CH is turned OFF, the switches L1, L2 are opened.
