Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a high-strength pure titanium sheet having less anisotropy in yield strength by subjecting repeatedly a hot- or cold-rolled sheet of high- strength pure titanium contg. oxygen at a high rate to cold rolling and annealing and limiting the range of the combination of the final cold rolling draft and the cold rolling draft before the same.
CONSTITUTION: The hot- or cold-rolled sheet of high-strength pure titanium contg. ≥0.26% oxygen is annealed and is then subjected repeatedly at least twice of cold rolling and annealing including cold rolling-intermediate annealing- cold rolling by unidirectional rolling. The combination of the cold rolling draft in the final cold rolling and the cold rolling before said rolling is selected so as to enter the diagonal line region shown in the figure. The high-strength pure titanium sheet having ≤1.15 anisotropy in yield strength is thus obtd. The above- mentioned annealing is executed preferably for about 1W200min at about 600W 800°C each time.
