Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the operability by a method wherein a visual sensor is provided on the wall surface of a heating chamber so as to recognize the kind, quantity and weight of stuff to be heated without touching it in order to control heating thereof. CONSTITUTION:A driver circuit 5 drives a visual sensor 4 in order to collect image information such as contour, color and the like of stuff to be heated. The collected image information is digitized at a digitizer circuit 6 in the digital signals of ''1'' and ''0''. The contour and color can be obtained by catching the image of the stuff to be heated by means of a visual sensor 4. Concretely, firstly the presence and absence and number of the stuff to be heated are judged. Secondly, the stuff to be heated is discriminated to which class it belongs in the major classification based upon the degree of similarity of shape eigen value, which shows kind and is obtained by calculating the respective dimensions from the data. After that, the cooking data conforming to the discriminated stuff to be heated is called from a memory circuit 7 in order to control heating by a heating control circuit 9.
