Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a disc pad to be prevented from its breaking and/or falling- off, by partially or fully coating the peripheral side or the reverse side of the pad with a metallic or heat resistant fiber net. CONSTITUTION:This disc pad, using a pad of double construction compounding a heat insulating material layer 2 inside a frictional material layer 1 of semi-metallic system, is adhesively attached to a backing metal 4 by integrally coating the peripheral side of said disc pad by simultaneous molding with a metallic or heat resistant fiber net 3. Accordingly, this coating prevents breaking and/or falling-off of the disc pad while enables its exfoliation and falling-off from the backing metal to be also prevented.

(B) Prior art Conventionally, disc pads for FF and large vehicles, etc., are subjected to high loads and high heat history, so they are susceptible to deterioration of the binder resin, chips, cracks, etc. 11
There was a risk of dropping by 12.

(C) Object and Structure of the Invention The present invention has been made to improve such conventional drawbacks, and is made by forming part or all of the outer circumferential side surface and/or back surface of the pad from metal or heat-resistant II fiber. We also provide mesh-covered disc pads.

Reinforcement with this coating will not only prevent the risk of holes and falling off, but when using bamboo with metallic fiber mesh, the back metal will be welded too tightly, so it will not peel off or fall off from this surface. It can also be prevented. Examples of these metallic or heat-resistant fibers include glass fibers and aromatic amide fibers, and woven or nonwoven fabrics thereof are suitable. For coating, it is preferable to bond the mesh to the surface of the pad at the same time by molding.
