Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent mixing of different color toners to obtain a color image without mixed color by supplying an electric charge to a latent image forming medium simultaneously with overall exposure of this medium in the second and following electrostatic charging stages. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 11 is rotated in the direction of an arrow. A charger 12a supplies an electric charge to the overall surface of a photosensitive layer 11a of the drum 11 to charge it uniformly. A latent image of the first color is formed in an exposure part 13a by exposure, and a toner image is formed in a developing part 14a. The photosensitive layer 11a is charged uniformly through a grid wire 24 by a charger 12b again, and simultaneously, overall exposure is performed by a lamp 27 to charge the photosensitive layer uniformly again. A latent image of the second color is formed in an exposure part 13b by exposure, and a toner image of the second color is formed by a developing part 14b. The image is transferred to a recording paper 19 by a transfer device 15. Thus, a color image without mixed color is obtained.
