Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the casting of concrete while uniformizing a filtering speed at each part by largely taking an available filtering area, by providing a washing pipe for injecting washing water to the under-surface of a filter layer and providing a horizontal sludge discharge trough to the upper surface of the filter layer.
CONSTITUTION: A horizontal sludge discharge trough 51 made of a metal or plastic is provided to the center of the upper surface of a main filter material 12. Both front and rear end surfaces of the sludge discharge trough 51 are closed and the sludge discharge pipe 52 connected to the front end thereof pierces the front wall of a filter tank 1 so as to be opened to the sand collection box 55 in front of the filter tank 1 through a sludge discharge valve 54. When the main filter material 12 generates clogging by the filtering of raw water, washing water is injected from the washing water pipe 11 provided to the under surface of said filter material 12 to discharge adhered sludge from the sludge discharge pipe 51. A slight amount of filter sand in the main filter material 12 flowed out along with sludge from the sludge discharge pipe 52 can be separated and recovered from sludge in the sand collection box 55.
