Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode capable of maintaining high porosity for a long time by immersing a porous substrate obtained by sintering the powder made of the first metal in an aqueous solution containing the second metal, then drying it, and heat-treating it in a reducing atmosphere containing hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:A plate body molded by pressure with carbonyl nickel powder is sintered in an atmosphere containing hydrogen to obtain a substrate made of a porous sintered body. After this substrate is immersed in a chromium nitrate solution, it is dried. This immersion - drying process is repeated three times to have chromium contained in the substrate. This substrate is heat-treated in a gas atmosphere of hydrogen 4Vol%-nitrogen 96Vol% to obtain a fuel electrode.
