PURPOSE:To decrease the cancel shutter speed of automatic flashing and allow photography with proper background lightness by providing a changeover switch in the tripod coupling socket of a camera, and operating it with the screw of a fitted tripod. CONSTITUTION:A tripod detection pin 6 projects in the tripod coupling socket 5 during hand photography, and the changeover switch 8 is turned off. When flash photograpy is performed with the camera fixed on a tripod, the screw 10 of the tripod 9 is screwed into the socket 5 and then the tripod detection pin 6 slides inward against the force of a spring 7 to turn on the changeover switch 8. Then, the count time of a timer circuit which is set within the range where there is no hand shake is switched automatically to longer time, so photography is possible with proper background exposure even when the background of the subject is dark, eliminating such a photography that the background is dark and only the subject is exposed properly.
