Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of the surface of an image forming body, the cleaning blade, etc., of a cleaning device, or a developer by stopping the rotation of the image formation body at a necessary minimum. CONSTITUTION:When the running-directional length of recording paper is longer than the distance between points A and C, the front end of the recording paper already reaches the point C while the rear end passed through the point A, so the rotation of the image forming body 1 is stopped between when the rear end passes through the point A and when the surface of the image forming body 1 on which a toner image is formed passes through the point B. Further, when the recording paper is fed sufficiently by the rotation of the image forming body 1, a negative guiding means like a guide plate is usable instead of a positive conveying means like a conveyor 9. Thus, the rotation of the image forming body is stopped at a necesarry minimum, thereby preventing the surface of the image forming body, cleaning blade, etc., of the cleaning device, and developer from deteriorating.
