Abstract

PURPOSE:To print various kinds of characters, symbols, etc. at a high speed on a large quantity of parts, etc. by irradiating a laser beam to a member to be subjected to printing, through a sheet for a mask punched with characters, symbols, etc. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 3 for a mask is disposed substantially apart from the surface of a part or product 5 to be subjected to printing. A laser beam 2 is irradiated through said sheet 3 to said part or product, whereby the beam 2 is irradiated on the part or product 5 in the reduced shape of the character or symbol 4 formed by punching on the sheet 3. The laser beam is so adjusted in this stage that the intensity per area of the beam 2 in the punched character or symbol 4 is substantially small to the extent of avoiding melting the material of the sheet 3 and that the intensity per area of the beam 2 on the part or product 5 to be subjected to printing is substantially large to the extent of melting the material of the product 5.

FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing a conventional printing method using a laser beam. As shown in Figure 1, in order to mark a part or product with a laser beam, a spot 1 of the laser beam is placed on the part or product (not shown) to be printed.
The F symbol is printed on the surface of a part or product by moving the F symbol while irradiating it according to the shape of the character, symbol, etc. to be printed, for example, the shape of the F symbol.

The present invention has been made in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional methods.A mask sheet on which characters, symbols, etc. are printed is installed at a position sufficiently far away from the focal point of the laser beam, and A member to be printed is placed in a nearby position, and by irradiating this member with the laser beam through the mask sheet, the mask sheet is exposed to a bath, melting only the member, and printing is performed. It is an object of the present invention to provide a printing method using a laser beam that enables high-speed printing and that can be easily controlled.

FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram showing the figure 9 method using a laser beam, which is an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 2, 2 is a laser beam, 3 is a mask sheet, and this is provided with characters or symbols 4, which are punched or etched into a strip of aluminum, for example. 5 is the part or product to be printed, 6 is the character or symbol printed on the part or product 5, and point A is the focus of the laser beam 2 that would be connected if the part or product 5 were not present.

Next, a printing method using a laser beam, which is an embodiment of the present invention, will be explained with reference to FIG. Now, the laser beam 2 is
Using a mirror such as a concave mirror (not shown), the irradiation is focused on the inside of the part or product 5 to be printed from the surface. In addition, by arranging a masking sheet 3 light-separated from the surface of the part or product 5 to be printed, and irradiating the laser beam 2 through this masking sheet 3,
The laser beam 2 is irradiated onto the part or product 5 with the perforated characters or symbols 4 formed on the mask sheet 3 having a reduced shape.

Hli using the laser beam 2 according to the method described above.
When printing on the item or product 5, use the mask sheet 3.
Because it does not require high heat resistance, it can be easily obtained at low cost, and since the shape of the character or symbol 4 is reduced and irradiated onto the part or product 5, the shape of the character or symbol 4 is made relatively large. The shapes of the characters and symbols 4 can also be created freely. Also, regarding printing control, the part or product 5 to be printed may be moved in the direction shown by the arrow in Fig. 2, and when it comes to a fixed position, the second laser beam may be irradiated; Even when changing the desired character or symbol 4, all you have to do is feed the mask sheet 3 in the direction shown by the arrow in Figure 2 until the desired character or symbol 4 is at the specified position. Control can be performed very easily.

As described above, according to the laser beam printing method according to the present invention, a mask sheet with characters, symbols, etc. punched out is installed at a position separated by light from the focal point of the laser beam, and the mask is placed on the member to be printed. By irradiating the laser beam through the masking sheet, the masking sheet is bathed, and only the member to be printed is printed. Operations such as printing the part number of a complete set of parts or products, or printing while changing the characters and symbols to be printed can be performed at extremely high speed, and the control can be realized simply and easily. It has excellent effects such as making it possible to do many things.
