Abstract

PURPOSE:To carve easily an ornamental pattern to a die material at the same time as extrusion of an Al compound die material, by holding the tip part of an Al die material between carving rolls, assembling a roll box, mounting it on a platen inlet, and drawing out the tip of the die material. CONSTITUTION:An extruded material tip part 1a is held between a pair of carving rolls 30 from a platen port 14a, and a roll box is assembled. This roll box is mounted on rack bases 40, 40' firmly provided on the platen port 14a, and a die material 1 is made to coincide with the height of a die extruding port by turning adjusting handles 45, 45'. Subsequently, the die material tip part 1a whose head is out is held by a puller 2, a die material is drawn out by applying constant tension, and the carving rolls 30 are rotated. By this method, it is possible to obtain an Al metallic die material having constant uneven parts, etc., and a stable quality.
