Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve degassing of the positive mixture and make electrolyte to be highly homogeneously distributed in the positive mixture by granulating mixture consisting of manganese dioxide, a conductive member and a given amount of whole electrolyte while giving shock to the mixture so as to remove air contained in the mixture and to homogeneously distibute the electrolyte, being followed by packing thus formed granular mixture into a positive can while crushing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:When three-dimensional vibration is applied to a mixture put in a container 14 by means of a motor 17, the mixture starts a turning movement degassing the mixture due to the vibration as well as clashes among the mixture, and the mixture is granulated while homogeneously distributing electrolyte. Next, a given amount of a granular mixture 20 is packed in a measuring part 18a, and a piston 19 is pressed into the measuring part 18a so as to pack a positive mixture 4 in a zinc can 1. At this point, the graular mixture 20 is crushed mainly in a grain-crushing part 18b into completely powdery form. The thus manufactured positive mixture 4 has an excellently high specific gravity, which is not less than 96% of the true specific gravity, and is remarkably well degassed.
