Abstract

PURPOSE:To record and reproduce surely data while performing tracking at high position accuracy without forming a pre-group in a recording medium by increasing the recording temperature to the 1st recording medium layer on which tracking information is recorded in advance more than the recording temperature to the 2nd recording medium layer possible for recording data. CONSTITUTION:The 1st filter 3 has high reflectance to a wavelength lambda1 of the 1st laser beam 7 and also has high transmissivity to the wavelength lambda2 of the 2nd laser beam 8, and the 2nd filter 4 has high reflectance to the wavelength lambda2 and also has a high transmissivity to the wavelength lambda1. The 1st recording medium layer 5 is made of the magnetic thin film having a Curie point of about 165 deg.C and the 2nd recording medium layer 6 is made of a magnetic thin film having a Curie point of about 75 deg.C. Thus while tracking the tracking information by irradiating the 1st laser beam 7 to the 1st recording medium layer 5 thermally transferred from a recording medium for transfer, the 2nd laser beam 8 is irradiated onto the 2nd recording medium layer 6 so as to record and reproduce the data.
