Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the frequency-to-gain characteristics of even a small-sized speaker and improve the low-frequency reproduction by using a flat-plate type circular ceramic plate which is thin, boring numbers of through holes in the plate, and sticking aluminum foil covering the through holes. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic consisting principally of alumina is used as the material of a plane diaphragm 9. In this case, the diaphragm 9 is thinned to <=0.4mm. thickness while having a 75mm. diameter, so the weight is reduced. This is therefore lighter in weight and higher in rigidity than an aluminum honeycomb structure, so sufficient sound pressure is obtained correspondingly even when a magnet 1, yokes 2, 3, and 4, and movable coil 5 are small in size. This diaphragm has a sharp rise in sound pressure level from 20 to 75Hz and improves the reproduction of low frequencies. Further, oscillation is conducted speedily because of the high-density molecule structure and a clear tone is reproduced. Further, the diaphragm even when getting wet neither deteriorates nor oxidizes because of the stuck aluminum foil and there is not change in sound quality.
