Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain a deck always in the horizontal level irrespective of perturbation due to waves, etc. by controlling the supply of compress-air into air-tight hollow support columns having their lower ends opened in the water, by means of a deck-level detector.
CONSTITUTION: A water-surface working bed has a deck 1 which is supported at a suitable height above the water surface by means of a plurality of floating support columns 2 having their lower parts submerged in the water. These floating columns are formed as a plurality of air-tight columns having lower ends 3 opened in the water. Further, a comressed-air source and a deck-level detector 6 are arranged on the deck 6. The deck-level detector 6 feeds compressed-air to the air-tight hollow columns 2 to adjust their buoyancies. With this arrangement the deck 1 may be always maintained, horizontally, irrespective of perturbation due to waves, etc.
