Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable an engine to stably perform its idling operation, by providing an air bleed control valve, responsively operated to a temperature of the engine, in an air bleed passage communicated to a fuel passage in a slow system so that an overrich mixture can be produced by closing said valve when the engine is in a cold state.
CONSTITUTION: A carburetor provides a slow fuel port 7 and an idle port 8 in a position adjacent to a throttle valve 4 in the downstream from a Venturi part 3 in an intake passage 2, and the both ports 7, 8 are connected to the inside of a float chamber 6 through a slow fuel passage 9. The slow fuel passage 9 comprises an intermediate passage part 9a extended in the horizontal direction, inlet passage part 9b and an outlet passage part 9c, and the intermediate passage part 9a is communicated to the intake passage 2 in the upstream from the Venturi part 3 through the first and the second air bleed passages 17, 18 respectively having air bleed jets 19, 20. Further the air bleed passage 18 interposes an air bleed control valve 21 operated at a prescribed temperature, for instance, closed at 60°C or less while opened at 60°C or more.
