Abstract

PURPOSE:To speedily remove foreign matter and prevent a blade and a printing plate from being damaged due to foreign matter, by providing a linear form foreign matter removing recessed part at a front part and/or a rear part of a pattern-forming recessed part on a printing surface, in an intaglio printing plate such as a gravure printing plate or a direct-engraved intaglio printing plate. CONSTITUTION:The recessed part 3, 11 for removing foreign matter is provided on the upstream side in a doctoring direction 4, 16 of the pattern-forming recessed part 2 provided in the printing plate 1, 10. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to improvements in printing plates used in intaglio printing.

When using a doctor blade to scrape off excess ink that is supplied onto the plate surface during intaglio printing, and filling ink only into the pattern-forming recesses of the plate, it is difficult in actual work to always scrape off the ink cleanly.
