Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a required shape without waste of materials by forming electrodes on the entire front and rear sides of a plate-shaped piezoelectric body, bonding the two said piezoelectric bodies with polarization and overlapping to form a mother board and cutting it into a square form. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 10a, 10b, 11a, 11b are formed on the entire front and rear sides of the piezoelectric bodies 10, 11 by vapor-deposition or the like. Then, the piezoelectric bodies 10, 11 are polarized in the direction of arrows A, B. They are overlapped and bonded by a bonding agent such as solder to form the mother board. The board is cut by using a diamond wheel to form many rectangular piezoelectric resonators at the same time. Thus, the frequency adjustment is performed by polishing or node cutting as required. The piezoelectric resonators with small size, easy support at the node point, without waste of materials, and with high accuracy and required shape are obtained by this method. Then, the piezoelectric resonators with less variation in frequency characteristics are manufactured.
