Abstract

PURPOSE:To shift an image by a specific extent without shifting an original on a platen by storing data on the amount of image shifting in a nonvolatile memory and adjusting a transfer position. CONSTITUTION:A gate control circuit 48 starts measuring time at the point of time when a scan on the original starts and puts a gate 61 off a conveyance path after a time (t) for determining the timing of conveyance. The front edge of a copy form 21 moves forth at this timing and is conveyed up to the transfer position. Namely, the amount of image shifting is adjusted by setting the time (t) properly. When the setting of the amount of image shifting is completed, the power source is turned off and the nonvolatile memory holds the amount. Namely, even when the power source is turned off temporarily, the image of an original to be copied next is shifted by the specific amount. Thus, the image is shifted by the specific amount without shifting the original on the platen.
