Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the transmission of a DC signal with small size and low cost by transmitting one of a tri-state signal such as the 1st and 2nd voltages with a low output impedance and an optional voltage with a high impedance in response to an input of a tri-state value generating circuit and reproducing it accordingly at a tri-state discriminating circuit. CONSTITUTION:Suppose that only an input voltage V11 is higher than a discriminating voltage VT at a period T1, both V11, V12 are lower at a period T2 and only V12 is higher at a period T3, then a transmitted voltage VP is high at the period T1 as shown in Fig. C and low at a period T3 (low output impedance), and a high impedance Z is obtained at the period T2. When a signal with low impedance and high level is transmitted from a tri-state value generating circuit 1', a photocoupler 23 of a tri-state value discriminating circuit 14' is conductive and an output voltage VO1 goes to high level (Fig. d). When a signal with low output impedance and low level is transmitted, an output voltage VO2 of the photocoupler 24 goes to high level (Fig. e at period T3). Since a current does not almost flow to the photocoupler at the period T2 independently of the voltage on the transmission line, the voltages VO1, VO2 go to low level (Figs. d, e at period T2).
