Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain the target value in the surface roughness of a material to be rolled in dull rolling wherein the prescribed surface roughness is transferred on said material by determining the average face pressure for a target transfer rate under a specified tension and setting the draft at which said face pressure is attained then rolling the material at the set draft. CONSTITUTION:Initial values of front and rear tensions, coefft. (u) of friction, the radius R of roll, the thickness (h) on the outlet side, transfer rate alpha, etc. are set. An average face pressure Pm is calculated by the equation ( I ) that holds under a specified tension. A draft (r) is adequately determined and average deformation resistance (km) is calculated by the equations (II, III). A calculated rolling load Pc is calculated by the equations (II, IV). A calculated average face pressure Pmc is calculated by using Pc. The draft (r) is changed and calculated until the error between Pm and Pmc attains a specified value or below, and the final draft (r) is determined. Conditions are settable extremely more quickly than by the estimated test pressure in the prior art and the method is efficient and economical.
