Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a constant voltage circuit to zero when a load is opened by stopping automatically the feed to a current by- pass circuit of a reference voltage generating circuit or the like at an unloading time. CONSTITUTION:A transistor TR 10 and resistances 11 and 12 detect whether a load 7 is connected or not, and they stop automatically the feed to the reference voltage generating circuit consisting of a Zener diode 3 at an unloading time. The current from a power source is flowed through resistances 11 and 12 to turn on the TR10 when a power switch 6 in the load side is turned on, and therefore, this circuit is equivalent to a conventional constant voltage circuit. When the power switch 6 is turned off, the TR10 is turned off, and the feed from the power source 8 to the Zener diode 3 is stopped, and the power consumption of the constant voltage circuit becomes zero. Thus, the power consumption of the constant voltage circuit at the time free from the load is reduced to zero.
