Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to use an automatic pump having a small-sized pressure tank, for the titled purpose by imparting a hysteresis to a feed-water starting water level and a feed-water stopping water level of a single over-head tank, and thereby reducing the frequency of starting and stopping operation of the automatic pump. CONSTITUTION:When water in an over-head tank 9 is discharged via a feed water pipe 14 and the water level in the tank 9 becomes lower than a prescribed lower limit level (feed-water starting water level) 44, an automatic feed water valve means 11 is put into operation by a ball tap of a water level detecting means and water is supplied into the over-head tank 9. By detecting resultant drop of pressure in a feed water pipe 8 by means of a pressure switch 3 of an automatic pump 1, a storage pump 2 is set into operation for drawing water from a water source 6 and supplying water to the head tank 9 continuously. Supply of water by the pump 1 is continued until the level of water in the tank 9 reaches a prescribed upper limit level (feed-water stopping water level) 46. Since, by employing such an arrangement, starting and stopping of operation of the pump 1 is not repeated while the water level in the tank 9 is raised from the lower limit level 44 to the upper limit level 46, it is enabled to use a small- sized pressure tank 4 in stead of a large-sized pressure tank.
