Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the discontinuation of operation for a central control part despite the generation of a permanent fault, by providing a circuit that detects a fault of a common line and at the same time can separate the faulty part from the common line of the central control part. CONSTITUTION:When an input/output device 33 has a fault of a common line, a fault is discriminated after a fault detecting circuit 23 detects that the signal on a common line 44 is kept faulty for a prescribed time of detection or longer. Then the line 44 connected to the device 33 is separated from a central control part 1. In this case, both fault detecting circuits 21 and 22 also detect the fault of the line 44. However the circuit 23 works first to separate the faulty part to recover the fault of the line 44 since the detecting time of the circuits 21 and 22 is set longer than the circuit 23. Therefore both circuits 21 and 22 have no actuation. As a result, a controller is put under a state equivalent to a case where the device 23 does nit exist and continues its operation with a reduced scale.
