Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain at a high speed both a real part and an imaginary part in parallel through a pipeline constitution, by using a recording circuit to which the real and imaginary parts of one of a pair of complex numbers are supplied and a 4-input multiplying part containing 4 partial integration circuits. CONSTITUTION:Recording circuits 5 and 6 perform recording with Booth algorism. A 4-input multiplying circuit 7 contains 4 double input multiplying circuits which obtain values (ac), (-bd), (bc) and (ad) in terms of a pair of complex numbers (a+bi) and (c+di) and based on the contents of buffer registers 12-15 and carries out multiplications corresponding to 4 inputs in parallel to each other. Partial integration circuits 8 and 9 contain double input adder circuits and produce value (ac-bd) and value (ad+bc) respectively. Then the values (ac-bd) and (ad+bc) are obtained in parallel to each other at a final result output registers 10 and 11, respectively. Thus a pipeline constitution is obtained as a whole.
