Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition small in the change of a gelation time with time and excellent in storage stability, comprising a specified unsaturated epoxy ester, a polymerizable vinyl monomer, trimethylhydroquinone and a β-diketone compound.
CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated epoxy ester (A) is obtained by reacting an epoxy compound having at least one epoxy group in the molecule with an α,β-unsaturated monobasic acid (e.g., acrylic acid) at 80W150°C in the presence of an esterification catalyst. Then, to 100pt.wt. unsaturated epoxy ester resin prepared by mixing 80W30pts.wt. component A with 20W70pts.wt. polymerizable vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) and heating and dissolving the mixture at 40W120°C in the presence of an inhibitor (e.g., hydroquinone) are added 0.005W0.5pt.wt. trimethylhydroquinone and, if necessary, 0.0001W0.5pt.wt. at least one β-diketone compound selected from the group consisting of acetylacetone, methyl acetoacetate, ethyl acetoacetate and dimedone.
