Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase recording sensitivity, by heating locally the uppermost layer in the information recording area of an optical recording medium to elongate and peel-off the layer, and forming a recording track, and recording information on this recording track. CONSTITUTION:A reflective layer 30, transmissive layer 40, and absorptive layer are laminated on a substrate 20 and irradiated previously with a laser beam to form concentric elongated bulbs 210-260. For information recording, the track consisting of those elongated bulbs 210-260. For information recording, the track consisting of those elongated bulbs 210-260 is irradiated with the laser beam to form recessed or projecting pits on the elongated bulbs 210-260. The absorptive layer of the track is separated from the substrate, so that thermal flowout is prevented to improve the recording sensitivity.
