Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the reduction in the size of a device, by transferring the resulted developed image to a transfer material by using a primary electrostatic charger, then separating the transfer material from the surface of a photoreceptor by using a secondary corona discharger. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic transfer charger 13 serving also as a primary electrostatic charger and a seperating corona discharger 14 serving also as a secondary corona discharger are provided. A photosensitive drum 1 is electrostatically charged uniformly by the charger 13 upon starting of copying, and in succession, the drum is destaticized with AC or DC by the discharger 14; at the same instant, the drum is exposed 3 with an image, then the drum receives the full surface exposure by a light source 5, whereby an electrostatic latent image is formed on the drum 1. The drum 1 of which the latent image is developed by a developing device 6 rotates further and when the drum comes again to the position of the charger 13, transfer paper 9 is fed along a guide 15 from the direction of an arrow in synchronization with the drum and is brought into tight contact with the drum. The rear surface of the paper 9 is charged with corona by the charger 13 in the stage when the paper 9 passes the charger 13, whereby the toner image on the drum 1 is transferred onto the surface of the paper.
